The Blues Brothers is a classic 1980's film based on the legendary music of Rythm and Blues legends such as Ray Charles and John Lee Hooker. Overview:The story begins with 'Joliet' Jake Blues being released on early parole for good behaviour. After Elwwod Blues picks up his brother Jake from the joint,the brothers learn that their old orphanage will be shut-down if they cannot collect $5 000 by Friday. To raise the money, Jake and Elwood put their old band, The Blues Brothers Band, back together to play one large concert to save the orphanage. But with the Blues Brothers problem of staying on the wrong side of the law, this turns into a wild and wacky adventure filled with car chases.
Review: The Blues Brothers offers an exciting thrill ride through the 80's. While overdocing a little bit on the car chases, John Landis succeeds in creating a non-stop action, fun-filled John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd comedy. I give it 3 out of 5 smiles!
