OPERATION DX was performed by D-Generation X (Triple H, Road Dogg, Bad A$$,Chyna and X-Pac) on behalf of the WWF.
Due to the uprising in popularity for Ted Turner's WCW, WWF's D-Generation X felt that it was time to take action, thereby starting one of the most revolutionary moments in wrestling history. They would do whatever they could to stop the WCW's success, including turning fans onto their side, blowing up the CNN Building and attempting to attack Eric Bischoff. Reader beware: This is hardcore action!
OPERATION DX began in late 1997/early 1998. The purpose was to force more viewers into watching WWF's 'MONDAY NIGHT RAW' instead of WCW's 'MONDAY NIGHT NITRO'. After weeks of preparation, D-Generation X declared war on WCW.
The first attacks began in early 1998, with D-Generation X and friend Rick Rude attempting to find the building that WCW operates out of. After many hours of exhausting search, unable to find the WCW building, D-Generation X retired to a local Sam's restaurant for refreshments.
X MARKS THE SPOT!
The chase on again, Triple H points out that the WCW building has to be big, 'cause the WWF building is huge. After hours more of searching, DX spotted an nWo HOLLYWOOD sticker on the back of an SUV. The WCW building had been found, bringing on part 2 of OPERATION DX.
OPERATION DX BEGINS!
In stage 2 of OPERATION DX, D-Generation X, first, attempts to find WCW President Eric Bischoff (yes, the man who fired X-Pac). After finding themselves unable to get through the door front security, DX decided to go with more drastic measures. Parking their multipurpose vehicle across from the CNN building, DX launched the first attack on WCW by blowing up the CNN building! Hereby instigating the third and final phase of OPERATION DX.
With OPERATION DX at full force, X-Pac, Triple H, Chyna and the Outlaws headed to the arena for WCW Monday Nitro. While the fans flocked into the building, DX asked the crowd if they actually had PAYED, to get into Nitro. Most of them answering back with a H*LL NO! And then telling WCW to SUCK IT! OPERATION DX had been completed, WCW's fan base was obviously far inferior compared to the WWF's. DX now headed back to the Baltimore Arena to report their findings.
